HVAC systems are comprised of three elements: heating (furnaces), ventilation (ductwork),
and air conditioning units. All three
elements go together to form your HVAC system. If you have a
furnace and an air conditioner, they need a ventilation system to move the
heated or cooled air throughout your home or business.
The ventilation portion of the system will include air
returns, exhaust pipes, and ducts to convey the air flow from either your
furnace or air conditioner. Air returns
have filters that need to be checked and changed regularly.
The major elements of your heating unit (furnace) are the
blower and the heating element within the furnace to warm the air. These important parts of the system need to
be checked annually to ensure that they are in proper
working order.
The air conditioning unit is located on the outside of your
home or building. A compressor is what
cools the outside air before the air is moved inside to cool the inside
space. The fan on the outside unit moves
the cooled air into the duct work.
HVAC systems are some of the most complicated systems
located within your home. They largely
go unseen and sometimes are not given much thought unless you have a
problem. Heating or cooling problems are
recognized immediately.
Regular maintenance and check ups are required to keep HVAC
systems in great working order. It is
really not complicated to change a filter here and there in the ventilation
system, but when you begin to hear strange noises it is time to call a professional. Temperature changes that are erratic and
unusual normal present more warning signs that you need to get your HVAC system
checked out by a professional.
As technology increases so do the level of sophistication in
HVAC systems. When HVAC systems are running smoothly and perfectly, we can live
in perfectly controlled and comfortable indoor climates. When the system malfunctions, it is time to
call an expert quickly. Air-Rite has professionals available for all
your maintenance needs and queries.
